Business Description

Merricks Creek is situated an hour's drive south of Melbourne. The multi-clonal two hectare vineyard is on a gentle north, northeast slope approximately one kilometre from the moderating influence of Western Port Bay. This maritime cool climate provides a prolonged gentle autumn and a long slow ripening period, producing pinot noirs marked by fruit flavours, high natural acidity and fine tannins.
The vineyard was established with the best available clones in Australia (MV6, 113, 114, 115, 777 & D2V6). Merricks Creek has imported the most highly regarded clones that have been used in the U.S.A. and New Zealand. The prized 667 clone and vine stock from the famed Californian vineyard 'Calera' have been released from quarantine, successfully propogated and close planted within the vineyard.
Merricks Creek produces pinot noir in very small quantities for its mailing list customers as well as supplying selected restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Noosa. Limited amounts are exported to Canada, U.S.A and United Kingdom.
